The journey of an entrepreneur is definitely worthwhile, but for anyone who is an entrepreneur knows its not all sunshine and rainbows. There are days I wake up wanting to scream at the top of my lungs, break everything insight, endless arguments with myself, and then having the feeling that my life has shattered beneath me and everything I am working so hard to achieve will never be present. Overcoming these emotions and not giving up and getting a “security job” can be very challenging. I have not been an entrepreneur for too long, but with my research I have noticed similar patterns all successful entrepreneurs have. By applying these patterns to my life and realizing this is a stepping stone towards success, I’ve noticed a difference in my mood, I am more productive and I wake up not wanting to break anything.
Never not working– We all know there is no such thing as overnight success. Success takes hard work and patience. Entrepreneurs cannot afford to analyze every detail, you work 24/7, no-vacation, no sick days kind of job. Getting out of your comfort zone, taking risks and doing things you wouldn’t normally do to get different results. Saying “no” maybe something you are not use to saying, but in order to be successful, this will be something you need to get use to. Warren Buffet says it best “The difference between successful people and very successful, is that very successful people say “no” to almost everything and that is what gives them the time to accomplish so much.” As difficult as it may get, remember why you’re doing it in the first place. Whether it’s the freedom, being your own boss or living a life you have designed, it takes hard work and discipline to get there.
Explode with passion– What I believe makes an entrepreneur truly successful is not the amount of money in their bank account, but the feeling of waking up every morning and being excited about “going to work”. Your passion is reflected in your business, so if you do not love what you do, it will be reflected in the amount of success your business has. When you ask a successful person what they think about most of the time, their answers are all the same, and revolve around positive thinking. They think about what they want and how to get it. There are no limits with what you can do, be and have except for the limits you impose on yourself with your own thinking.
Invest in yourself- Self development is crucial for any entrepreneur, the more you grow the more your business will too. Get out there and network, attend conferences, buy self-help books and study the top people in your industry. Become the best version of yourself and become an expert at what you do.
Most importantly keep going, never give up and trust the journey. Remember that everyone will teach you to focus on your goals, but successful people focus on the journey and celebrate the milestones along the way.
